IMAGIO Achieves Key Milestone in Multimodal Ablation Therapy for Liver Cancer Clinical Trials

IMAGIO is pleased to announce the enrolment of its first patient at the Istituto Tumori in Italy, marking a significant milestone in advancing multimodal ablation therapy for liver cancer. This achievement is part of Work Package 3 (WP3), which focuses on multimodal ablation therapy, combining advanced imaging and therapeutic technologies to improve outcomes for liver cancer patients.

Under WP3, patient enrolment in clinical trials for multimodal ablation therapy is already underway at centres in the Netherlands, including Leiden University Medical Centre and Maastricht University Medical Centre+. The addition of the Istituto Tumori in Italy further strengthens these efforts, with Italian patients now participating in trials to optimise and standardise thermal liver tumor ablation.

IMAGIO’s approach integrates patient-centred innovation with cutting-edge technology to tackle the complexities of liver cancer treatment. Multimodal ablation therapy aims to optimise tumour removal while minimising damage to healthy tissue, offering patients more effective and less invasive treatment options. The participation of multiple European centres highlights IMAGIO’s collaborative ethos and dedication to fostering cross-border progress in healthcare. With clinical trials underway in Italy and the Netherlands, IMAGIO is poised to deliver transformative insights and technologies that will shape the future of liver cancer care.
